Text Box: The summer session begins at Open Sesame on Monday, June 11th.
Here are a few suggestions to keep the summer running smoothly:
All children must wear socks and tennis shoes! Sandals and flip flops are unsafe when playing on outdoor equipment and while on walks.
Please bring in a bottle of sunscreen with your child’s name on it to keep in the classroom. The teachers will put sunscreen on the children each time they go outside to prevent sunburns.
Please make sure your Text Box: child has an appropriate change of clothes in their locker (right size and seasonal) at all times. Accidents will and do happen!
Dress your child for the weather and/or daily activity. The classrooms go outside every day. Play clothes are best, something that can get dirty while they are outside.
The children will be playing in the sprinklers and wading pools this summer. Please bring their suit and towel in a plastic bag with their name on it. The teachers will post the swim schedule in the Text Box: classroom.
Make sure you check your child’s calendar everyday to see what the class has planned. There is nothing more disappointing than missing a fun field trip or activity because you did not know about it!
If your child will be late or not attending for some reason, please call the office by 9:00 a.m. and let us know. It helps to know who will be here and who will not for the daily lunch count and for field trips.
We hope all of our children and their families have a great summer!
Text Box: Insects such as mosquitoes, gnats, chiggers, and ticks commonly bite children and can make them miserable. There are many safe and effective insect repellents that you can use to protect your child, including those that use deet, citronella, or soybean oil. Remember to only use products that are approved for children, Text Box: follow the manufacturer’s instructions and wash off the insect repellent when you return indoors.
To keep your children safe from insect bites, you can also:
*Make sure to keep as much skin covered as possible.
*Wear light colored clothing, so as not to Text Box: attract bugs.
*Avoid using any scented soaps or other products.
*Apply repellent to clothing instead of skin so it won’t be absorbed.
*Wash off repellent as soon as possible.
*Avoid areas with insect nests.
*Follow the instructions!!!
